Atascosa Health Center’s network of rural healthcare clinics operates on the premise that health services can be provided efficiently and effectively to a family by well-trained professionals. Our providers and staff are knowledgeable of community resources and make referrals when necessary. We work hard to provide all of our patients with the care they require in a comfortable environment.
Atascosa Health Center, Inc. is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and provides services to all. The mission of the AHC is to provide accessible, comprehensive health promotion and quality care services to all residents of Atascosa, Karnes, Live Oak, McMullen and Wilson Counties. AHC achieves this mission with a network of six rural health clinics. AHC is a nonprofit rural health care network with a 40 year history of providing quality health care including dental and behavioral health services.

AHC accepts most commercial insurances, such as Blue Cross Blue Shield, Humana, Aetna, United Healthcare, etc. Also, AHC accepts Medicaid, Medicare and the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP).
AHC provides a sliding fee discount program for services based upon income and number of family members. Sliding fee discount is confidential and persons applying for the discount must provide documentation of income such as employee paycheck stubs, government benefits, etc.
AHC, as a NHSC- approved site, does not discriminate in the provision of services to an individual because the individual is unable to pay, because payment for those services would be made under Medicare, Medicaid, or CHIP, or based upon the individual's race, color, sex, national origin, disability, religion, age, sexual orientation, or gender identity.
